So I bought these magazine holders from Ikea from my classroom. They were a great price but they are so blah! I want to decorate them but don't know what I should do. Did anyone decorate theirs? What would you do?
Hi Lori. I've seen some like this that students have personalized. I had the cardboard ones last year and they will probably need to be replaced each year so I don't know how much work you would want to put into them. I'm excited to get the ones from Really Good Stuff this year (my new school gives a classroom budget).
You could cover them with cute Duck Tape! I covered a ton of clipboards with Duck Tape and they turned out really cute. The tape is really durable and easy to wipe off if it gets anything on it.
I used the same boxes from Ikea and covered them with Duct Tape. I taped them a couple of ways and used a few different designs of tape. You can check them out on one of my previous Monday Made Its.
I think I saw someone spray paint theirs.

DeleteI recently bought some, too. I wanted to spray paint them black and add some chevron tape. Now, I'm thinking about just adding the tape.

DeleteI used scrapbook paper and modge podged it. Looked cute. Only lasted a year though but you can't beat the price!
